Amazon acquires the site "Souq.com"

Amazon.com has announced that it has signed an agreement to acquire the e-commerce website "Souq.com" in the Arab world
In a statement, Amazon did not specify the financial value of its deal with Dubai-based Souq.com.

Amazon and Samsung said that joining the Amazon family would allow the site to continue to grow and offer additional offers to customers.

Emaar Properties, part of Emaar Properties, said on Monday it had made an offer worth $ 800 million to acquire the e-commerce company "Souq.com".

The company said in a statement to the stock exchange: "Emaar Malls offered an offer of $ 800 million to buy a site (Souq.com) in line with the strategy to fit e-commerce with the actual shopping," according to Reuters.

"The offer has not yet been accepted by the shareholders of (Souq.com) and if approved, the impact on Emaar Properties' first-quarter profit in the acquisition and 2017 will not be substantial," the statement added.

In the past week, informed sources told Reuters that "Amazon.com" agreed in principle to buy "Souq.com", and then declined Amazon comment and did not respond, "Souq.com" to ask for comment.
